Cedar Cove Lake Murray
If RV and tent camping is more your style? The state park has nine campgrounds, 321 RV sites and 165 campsites. I recommend looking at the PARK MAP to see which part of the park you want to enter. Each camp offers something a little different. So you can decide which one is best for you.

We chose Cedar Cove during our stay. It is a small camp on the way to Khao Chang. We loved all the trees and felt like we were alone when we were there. It is on the west side of the lake. Not too far from the park office and other areas we wanted to visit, our campsite was flooded and we could swim right from our site...our daughter was so excited.
Divided into two sections, Anadrake and Buckhorn, as well as the Park Office-Tucker Tower, the Lake Murray State Trail offers over 30 miles of trails of varying difficulty and skill levels. I suggest you talk to your gardener about the best options. We decided to start the Buzzard's Roost Trail from the park office. Cross the fishing bridge and use the white link trail to loop around this 3-mile hike, which you can find on the Park Office - Tucker Tower map.
Many of the park's trails are bike-friendly. Some are just mountain bikes. Some are paved and perfect for evening strolls. Many campsites have internal roads. So don't forget to bring your bike when you arrive. We enjoyed an elephant ride on the elephant track which is directly connected to our campsite. There is also a nice bike path. Enjoy the 18-hole golf course, ATV park, tennis courts and softball/baseball fields. The ATV area is over 1,000 acres, and the lake also offers water sports such as boating, fishing, swimming, and diving.
Lake Murray State Park, Oklahoma
Because Lake Murray was Oklahoma's first state park. So there's a lot of history to be enjoyed. Pick up a Historic Structure Guide and visit each site.
Our favorite is the Tucker Tower Nature Center. We got the Jr Naturalist book for our daughter. He graduated and received an Oklahoma State Park patch. We explored the lake and its surroundings. As we walked around the center, we then headed to Tucker Tower, the home of the Oklahoma State Governor. It is now a museum. Climb to the top of the tower for the best view of the park.
